Privacy policy
We don't have your data.
Last updated 22 October 2026.
LYRD is built so that its developer never receives what you store. This policy is short because there is very little to tell.
What LYRD collects
Nothing. The app has no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. It works fully offline.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your files, photos, videos and notes, encrypted on the device.
- Their names, dates, thumbnails and the names of your Layers, also encrypted.
- A device secret held by the Secure Enclave and Keychain. It never leaves your iPhone and is not included in backups.
Your patterns and recovery phrases are never stored by LYRD in any form.
Permissions
- Photos: only when you choose to remove originals from Photos after they are encrypted. Picking photos to import uses Apple's private picker and needs no permission.
- Camera: only when you scan a document or take a photo straight into a Layer.
LYRD does not ask for your contacts, location or microphone.
Purchases
If LYRD offers a subscription, payment is handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells us that a purchase happened; it does not tell us anything about your Layers, and we would not know how to ask.
Crash reports
If you share crash reports with developers in iOS settings, Apple may pass them on. LYRD contains no third-party crash reporting, and its error messages never include your content or names.
